Lillian May Ross, of Thomaston, passed away Nov. 3 at Fieldcrest Manor in Waldoboro, after a long illness.
She was born May 16, 1917 in Revere, Mass., the daughter of Joseph and Lena Giehelhausen Huntington.
Lillian attended Howe High in Billerica, Mass.; she graduated in 1934. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from University of Maine in 1972.
After graduating, Lillian worked for 40 Fathoms Ship Yard, The Courier Gazette, the National Council of Aging, taught Spanish and English, and was a civil service test examiner. Later, she continued her education and attended Texas Southmost College in Brownsville, Tex.
Lillian enjoyed performing in musicals and plays, knitting, sewing, and doing crosswords. She was an avid reader and a published author. Lillian played both the piano and guitar and loved eating out.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward J. Ross, in 1978.
She is survived by three sons, Arthur E. Ross and wife Janet M. Ross of Jefferson, Richard J. Ross and wife Janet Ross of Houston, Tex., and Stephen H. Ross of Lewiston.
No services will be held.
