Lois Jane Seidel, 77, of Waldoboro, passed away July 12 at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta.
Jane was born March 16, 1934 in Montoursville, Penn. She graduated from high school there in 1952 and went to work for Penn State University, where she met her husband, Nelson, who was a student there. They were married for 54 years.
Living in a suburb of Philadelphia, she was a secretary in the school district and served on the election staff.
The couple moved to Waldoboro in 1982. She again was on the election staff and belonged to and was past president of the Waldoboro Women’s Club, a member of the German Church Society and volunteered at Fieldcrest Manor nursing home.
She was a very caring person who always put the need of others before her own.
She was predeceased by her brother, David Lloyd George Hutchison and sisters, Vivian Heffner and Marion Bressette.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Nelson Seidel of Waldoboro; daughters, Chris Springer and husband David of Gorham and Beth Ilene Horsman and husband Peter of South Portland; grandchildren, Claire and Will Horsman; and six nieces and nephews.
