Lorraine Rice Brown, 64, passed away on the evening of March 24, 2019 at Marshwood Center in Lewiston, after a brief period of declining health. Born on Aug. 24, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Merrill and Marie (Benner) Rice.
Lorraine grew up in Bristol, attended local schools and graduated from Lincoln Academy. She would go on to take some nursing classes and worked as a health aide at the Lincoln Home in Newcastle. Throughout the years she also worked at Yellowfront Grocery and at a pharmacy in Connecticut before moving back to Maine.
She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, and doing crosswords, but more than anything she loved playing beano!
She is survived by her three siblings, Peggy Rodrigue of Bristol, Wayne Rice and his wife Cindy of Bristol, and Anne Marie Fogg and her husband Brent of Bristol; special friend, Phillip Morgan; six nieces and nephews, Jocelyn, Renee, Katie, Erica, Jackie, and Greg; as well as six great-nieces and nephews, Allyson, Wesley, Kaitlyn, Samantha, Graden and Hadley.
A memorial service for Lorraine will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, March 30 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta. Condolences and messages for her family may be expressed by visiting StrongHancock.com.
