Louise Boyer, 88, of Waldoboro, died Oct. 10 at her home surrounded by her loving friends and hospice staff.
She was born in Jersey City, N.J. on Dec. 31, 1920, the daughter of Leuign and Vint Pyle Mosman, and was delivered by her uncle, Dr. Immanuel Pyle. She resided in Ramsey, N.J.
During her childhood she visited Maine every summer with her family and best friend Maria Murphy. She and Maria treasured their time in Maine. When Louise and her husband retired in 1980, they moved permanently to their home in Waldoboro.
As a young woman she worked in reservations for United Airlines and Dunn & Bradstreet. After her retirement, she started volunteering at the Human Resources department of Lincoln County Healthcare where she volunteered every Tuesday until her passing.
She had a love for current events, breakfast, lunch or dinner on the town, Foster’s auctions, knitting and friends, family and most importantly her dogs of whom many were rescue dogs of the Standard Poodle breed.
She was predeceased by her loving spouse, Ray, in 2004.
Survivors include her childhood friend, Maria Murphy and spouse Mike also of Waldoboro; sister-in-law, Arlene Boyer of Ramsey, N.J.; cousins, Paul and Roberta Shoemaker of Floyd, Va.; cousins, Janet and Joe Jernigan of Carmel, Ind.; second cousin, Janet and Robert Bugher of Indianapolis, Ind.; and close friends.
Graveside service 9 a.m., Sat., Oct. 31, her favorite holiday, Halloween, at Brookland Cemetery, Rt. 220 South, in Waldoboro. Friends, family and dogs are welcome at the service with the reception following at the Broad Bay United Church of Christ in Waldoboro.
