Louise Teague Newbert, 90, of Jefferson, passed peacefully at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta on May 16.
Louise was born Sept. 2, 1925 in Waldoboro, the daughter of Kendall Teague and Celia (Ludwig) Teague.
She attended local schools and graduated from Waldoboro High School. Louise was a receptionist and secretary at Sylvania for many years. After she retired she ran Townline Campground in Nobleboro for 15 years.
She was a friend to many in church, at the campground and in the community. She always looked forward to seeing her seasonal campground friends when they came back for the summer.
She was a member of the North Waldoboro Nazarene Church where she played the piano for many years. She also taught Sunday school class at church.
Louise is predeceased by her parents, Kendall and Celia Teague; husband, Merton Newbert; and brother, George Teague.
She is survived by sons, Larry Newbert and wife Holly Howieson, Gary Newbert and wife Andrea, and Dwight Newbert and wife Carol, all of Nobleboro; foster son, Tony Casey and wife Margaret of Sanford; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation from 5-7 p.m., Fri., May 20 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. A service to celebrate Louise’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Sat., May 21 at Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Holden officiating. Burial will follow in the Shuman Cemetery in Waldoboro. All are welcome to a reception at the North Waldoboro Nazarene Church immediately following the burial.
