Lucille E. Harkins, 91, of Bath, passed away peacefully on March 8 at the Winship Green Nursing Center. She was born on Aug. 19, 1919, a daughter of Ernest and Marie Gagne Bolduc and grew up in Lewiston. She graduated from Lewiston High School, class of 1938.
On Aug. 30, 1941 she married Edward A. Harkins and the couple were life-long residents of Auburn and Small Point.
Family was first and foremost to her. She was a non-judgmental and supportive mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. A skilled seamstress, avid gardener and talented crafter, she shared her knowledge and mentored her family and friends with grace, dignity and joy.
Lucille was a communicate of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a member of the Phippsburg Historical Society and a founding member of the Palmyra Club.
She is predeceased by her husband and treasured friend, Edward, who passed on Dec. 2, 1988; and brothers, Zotique and Normand Bolduc.
Lucille is survived by a son, Donald E Harkins and wife Karen of Manchester, N.H.; daughter, Judith A. Hebert and husband Denis of Wiscasset; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorial mass 10 a.m., Sat., March 12 at St. Mary’s Church, 144 Lincoln St., Bath. Burial will be held in the springtime at Mount Hope Cemetery, Lewiston.
