Mae N. Tibbetts, 91, of North Deering, formerly of South Portland, passed away on Dec. 15 at Fallbrook Woods in North Deering.
She was born on May 29, 1921 in South Bristol, the daughter of Randall C. and Eunice C. (Gamage) Rice and was educated in South Bristol schools, graduating from South Bristol High School, Class of 1938.
Mae married Herbert B. Tibbetts on Sept. 13, 1942.
She enjoyed baking, visiting with her great-grandchildren, cheering for the Red Sox, drinking tea while spending time with her friends at the mall and painting the woodcarvings her husband made. She also enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk, making wreaths and fir pillows at Christmas time and holidays, camping, basketball, swimming, eating Snickers, being a nanny for many years and spending time with her family.
Mae is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Herbert, and brother, Roy.
She is survived by her daughter, Faye (Tibbetts) Graham and husband Skip of Scarborough; grandsons, Brent M. Graham and wife Jennifer of Cape Elizabeth, and Troy S. Graham and wife Shari of Maynard, Mass.; and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Susannah and Charlotte Graham of Cape Elizabeth, and Addison and Caden Graham of Maynard, Mass.
There will be no visiting hours. Graveside service 1 p.m., Fri., Dec. 21 at the West Bristol (Walpole) Cemetery in South Bristol.
