Martha Winchenbach Boggs, 100, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully on May 20.
The Town of Waldoboro dedicated the Town Report in 2012 to her for all she had done over the years. She was a dedicated member of the Waldoboro Community Garden Club who worked tirelessly to replace the elm trees that were destroyed by Dutch Elm disease with the trees that now line the town’s streets. She was also active in the Waldoborough Historical Society and the Methodist Church. She is a native of Waldoboro and both sides of her family settled here in the 1700s.
She is predeceased by her husband, George C. Boggs; parents, Alton and Nettie (McLain) Winchenbach; sister, Sadie Little; and brothers, Eugene and James.
She is survived by son, Robert Boggs and wife Mary of Ormond Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Kevin and Sean; great-grandchildren, Mitchell and Angela; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be at from 6-8 p.m., Wed., May 24 at Hall Funeral Home in Waldoboro. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thurs., May 25 at the Hall Funeral Home in Waldoboro. Interment will follow at the Old German Church Cemetery immediately after.
