Merlene A. Vose, 68, of Waldoboro, died Jan. 2 at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport, with her loving husband and their two sons by her side.
She was born April 29, 1940 in Rockland, a daughter of the late John and Frances Nason. In 1974 she married the love of her life, Wayne Vose.
There was not anything that she would not do for anyone in need. She loved working with Hospice and her involvement in the local Rebekahs and the Odd Fellows. She enjoyed many of the simpler things in life, for instance long car rides and having lunch next to the river with a loved one.
In addition to her parents, Merlene is preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, William and Gene Nason; nephew, Robert Nason Jr.; and grandson, Glenn Renchen.
In addition to her husband of more than 34 years, Merlene is survived by two sons, Dennis Vose of Rockland and Justin Vose of Waldoboro; two sisters, Julia Noke and Elizabeth Sprague; sister-in-law, Floris Morres; four nieces, Carmalita Johnson, Linda Norwood, Debbie Nason and Angelica Nason; nephew, Eugene “Boot” Nason; granddaughter, Bethany Johnson; and two great-grandchildren, Conrad Freeman and Jazzmin Johnson.
Services to celebrate Merlene’s life will be private at the convenience her family.
