Mona Ridley, 87, of Nobleboro, passed away on Dec. 20 at Cove’s Edge following many years of declining health. She was born in Rangeley on Jan. 24, 1929, the daughter of Clyde Wilcox and Olive Dunham Wilcox. She moved to Nobleboro in 1952 with her husband and young son.
Mona was passionate about many things in her life. She loved art, Tole painting, and teaching others how to paint. She loved spending time in her flower gardens, and, over the years, created many beautiful flowerbeds. Mona enjoyed watching birds come to her birdfeeders, and waited, expectantly, for the return of the hummingbirds every spring. Her other interests included anything Scottish, as well as studying the genealogy of her family.
Mona is survived by her husband of 67 years, Malcolm; son, Steven of Nobleboro; daughter, Kathleen and husband William of Warwick, R.I.; grandchildren, Sarah Ridley Geroux, husband Jamie, and children, Cody Beaucage and Kaleigh Beaucage of Jefferson; Iain Ridley, wife Tatiana and daughter, Catherine of Castro Valley, Cal.; Steven Ridley II of Portland; Tessa Niedfeldt Ducharme and husband Peter of Walden, Vt.; Andrew Niedfeldt and wife Edwina of West Warwick, R.I., and Anne Niedfeldt of Warwick, R.I.
A memorial service will held in the spring, and will be announced at that time.
