Morna H. Farnum, 90, of Madison, formerly of Alna, passed away on April 19 at Maplecrest Nursing Home in Madison, with family by her side.
She was born in Farmington on March 21, 1927, a daughter of Melvin W. and Genie E. (Tash) Huff. She graduated from Farmington High School in the Class of 1945. She was employed at J.J. Newbury in Farmington. On July 2, 1948 she married Carl W. Farnum. Morna was employed at Maine Country Store in Wiscasset for many years.
She loved cooking and reading, particularly Louis L’Amour Western books which she has read all of. Morna especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carl W. Farnum in 1999; daughter, Carla Clancy in 2014; son, Curt Farnum 1966; and her eight siblings.
She is survived by daughters, Kathy Farnum, and Kelly and husband James Clauson, all of Madison; son, Carl R. Farnum and wife Joyce of Huber Heights, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 6-8 p.m., Sat., April 29 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sun., April 30 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Alna Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Alna Fire Station.
