Nancy Elaine Benner, 71, of Waldoboro, passed away on April 14 at her home. She was born on May 15, 1946 in Rockland to William Merrill Sr. and Doris (Lacombe) Merrill.
Nancy grew up on Clark’s Island and attended local schools and graduated from Thomaston High School in 1966. She worked in Rockland at the canning factory and GTE Sylvania.
In 1967 she met and married Harold K. Benner and made their home in Waldoboro. After the birth of her son she remained a homemaker.
She enjoyed painting and ceramics, and her flower gardens. She enjoyed time with her family, especially the holidays and will be missed by all.
Nancy is predeceased by husband, Harold K. Benner; and sister, Judy Sanborn.
She is survived by son, Nathan Benner and wife Cindy of Waldoboro; granddaughter, Kassandra Benner of Augusta; brother, William Merrill Jr. and wife Brenda of Brunswick; and sister, Debra Norwood of Brunswick.
Funeral services for Nancy will be held at 1 p.m., Fri., April 20 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Interment will follow the service at Comery Cemetery in Waldoboro.
