Osborn M. Delano Jr., 66, of Whitefield, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 9.
Ozzie, as he was known by his friends, was the oldest of four children of Osborn and Ona Palosky Delano Sr. He was born in Bath and attended Wiscasset High School. He entered the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. As a child he attended St. Denis Catholic Church in Whitefield. He enjoyed old western movies.
He is survived by his daughter, Julie May Delano Barton; granddaughter, Rebecca May Barton; sister, Jane Russell; brothers, Luke and David Delano; nephew, Jim Russell; niece, Lynn Conroy; and many relatives and friends.
Graveside services with military honors will be held in the spring in his family lot in Calvary Cemetery beside his grandfather Domenic.
