Paul Howard Adams, 78, of Damariscotta and Houlton, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Jan. 9, at Lakeland Regional Hospital, Fla. He was born June 5, 1935, in Houlton, the only son of Joseph and Hildred Adams.
After graduating from Houlton High School, he served in the U.S. Army before finishing his schooling at Houlton’s Ricker College. He held various jobs in his career: Executive Director of the March of Dimes, Director of Area 5 Mental Health Board and owner/editor of The Labor Record. He retired to enjoy life in Damariscotta and Lakeland, Fla.
He was a member of the Jaycees, Elks Club, the American Legion, Poland Spring Country Club and Wawenock Country Club. Paul had an outgoing personality and a zest for life.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his nephew, Jeff Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Lovely Adams of Damariscotta; sister, Debbie Ward and Jim; niece, Kelly, all of Bangor; daughters, Paula Morrison and Andy of Westbrook, and Julie Garrison and Mike of Windham; stepchildren, J. Thompson of Old Orchard Beach, and Julie Thompson of Milwaukee; several cousins; and grandchildren, Valen Richard, Nick and Kylie Garrison, and Luke Morrison.
There will be an open house to celebrate his life from 4-7 p.m., Sun., Aug. 10 at his residence, 243 Biscay Rd., Damariscotta.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name be made to American Lung Association, 122 State St., Augusta ME 04330.
