Peter L. Kavin (Pack Rat Pete), 56, of Unity Plantations, died unexpectedly March 13. He was born Feb. 16, 1955, the son of Natalie and the late William Kavin of Concord, N.H., Bath and Gardiner. Peter spent much time in Damariscotta, Nobleboro, Rockland and Wiscasset. He graduated from Morse High School in Bath in 1973. He joined the Air Force and then married. Peter worked in a number of locations: Federal post office, real estate and sales.
He was predeceased by his father, William Kavin; younger brother, Andrew; special companion, Rose (Rosie) Zamor.
He is survived by his mother, Natalie; former wife, Wendy of Bangor; daughters, Rebecca of Bangor and Allyson of California; son, David of North Carolina; brothers, James Kavin and wife Marilyn of New Sweden and John Kavin of Caribou; sister, Kathleen Babcock of Seattle, Wash., Eileen Mullins of Texas, Suzanne Kavin of Missouri and Pauline Brown of Brunswick; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to share in a special memorial 3 p.m., Fri., April 8 at the Fairfield First Baptist Church, 12 Newhall St. (off Main St.), Fairfield with Pastor Donohue officiating.
