Rachel Anne Golaski, 29, of Bremen, passed away unexpectedly on May 18. Born on Feb. 7, 1988, in Wheeling, W.Va., she was the daughter of Robin Shott and Daniel Golaski. Rachel moved with her mother and sister, Sara, to Bremen in 2000, and graduated from Lincoln Academy in 2006.
Rachel loved the outdoors and being out on the water. She especially loved being with her friends. Over the years, she worked in many roles in the food service and seafood industries. A lively, loyal, and kind-hearted friend, she was known for being upbeat, funny, carefree, fearless, and candid.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Lois and Stanley Golaski.
Rachel is survived by mother, Robin and husband Glenn Murdoch of Bremen; father, Daniel Golaski and wife Karen of Lake City, Fla.; sister, Sara of Maui, Hawaii; step-siblings, Emily Elliott of Damariscotta, Leah Murdoch of Friendship, Ian and wife Elizabeth Murdoch of West Baldwin, and Gage, Brett, and Carly Jochumsen; grandparents, Scott and Joy Shott of New Harbor; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family wishes to welcome all family and friends to an informal gathering to remember Rachel, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Sat., May 27 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta. A time to remember and share stories will take place at 11 a.m.
