Rhea McCall Gordon passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 30 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Livorno, Italy in 1959.
Rhea graduated from Lincoln Academy and went on to attend the University of Maine at Orono. She also attended the Mannes School of Music in New York City, where she studied viola with Paul Doktor. Classical music was the love of her life. An accomplished pianist as well, Rhea was always either listening to, or playing, music. She was a devoted fan of the DaPonte String Quartet.
She loved her garden and her pets. She excelled at cooking, and enjoyed preparing delicious dishes for family gatherings. Always the life of the party, she often left the entire table in laughter with her amusing stories and astute observations about people (and frequent revelations of family secrets).
She was predeceased by her father, David Gordon; and brother, Christopher Gordon.
She was beloved by her family and her many friends. Her sweet, loving, caring nature will be missed more than words can ever express.
Rhea is survived by her mother, Ellen Gordon; as well as brothers, Alex and Geoffrey Gordon; and sister, Athena Taylor, and their families.
Rhea will be laid to rest privately in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Damariscotta.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta.
