Ronald A. Jordan, 73, of Bristol, passed away on the morning of May 11 at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta. Born in Portland on Aug. 9, 1942, he was the son of Charles and Stella Jordan. Growing up in Portland, he attended local schools and graduated from Deering High School in 1961.
Ronald worked for several companies that created some true Maine products throughout the years, including greats like Tater Tots in Aroostook County, Jordan’s Hot Dogs and Humpty Dumpty Potato Chips.
He loved watching NASCAR races, the Boston Red Sox, and the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed spending time outside, particularly his time spent fishing with his beloved nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Betty Charity; and brother, Donald Jordan.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Edythe A. “Edie” Jordan of Bristol; sister-in-law, Susan Eastman; nephews, Dana Eastman and friend Ashley Gifford of Westbrook, Robert Eastman, wife Tina and their children Tyler and Andrew of Westbrook, and Charles Jordan Jr. of South Portland; brother, Charles Jordan and wife Duddy of Portland; nieces, Brenda Jordan of Westbrook, and Robyn Bennett Charity Merriman and husband Gary of Florida; as well as several grand-nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his three cats, Smokey, Twix and Buffy; as well as his extended church family and friends.
A time of visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m., Sun., May 15 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Mon., May 16 at the Damariscotta United Methodist Church. He will be laid to rest privately in the Blanchard Cemetery in Falmouth.
