Ruth A. Richardson, 95, of Friendship, passed away Feb. 22 at the Lucette Residential Care facility in Thomaston.
She was born Jan. 12, 1916 in Friendship, a daughter of the late William and Mabel Hart Watson, grew up in Friendship and attended local schools. She worked at many sardine factories in Rockland and Friendship and at the clam factory in Friendship.
She was a member of the Friendship Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, and attended the Friendship Advent Christian Church.
She enjoyed being a homemaker, going to yard sales, crafting, knitting and making quilts.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Llewellyn Yattaw; second husband, Dr. Frank Richardson; son, Frank Yattaw (1977); sisters, Peggy McMullen, Kathleen Nassa and Phyllis Watson; and twin brothers, Clifton and Leon Watson, Raymond and Roland Watson, Norman Watson, Leroy Watson and William Watson.
Survivors include her daughter, Gloria Genthner of Friendship; son, Llewellyn Yattaw and wife Cynthia of Friendship; sister, Christine Gayton of Portland, Verna Littlefield of Portland; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A spring graveside service is planned and will be announced by the Hall Funeral Home.
