Susanna C. Starr, 54, of Warren, died at home Sept. 24 after an extended illness.
Born in Damariscotta July 2, 1956, she was the daughter of Charles and Marvel Maines. She lived in Round Pond as a child and attended area schools, eventually earning her G.E.D. She continued her education another two years at the college level.
Despite suffering from a long term disability, she was a loving and compassionate person who was always giving to others. She loved cooking, sewing, making candies and arts. When her children were young, she also enjoyed sewing clothing for them.
Predeceased by her daughter, Misty Maines, Susanna is survived by her family and friends, including James L. D’Orazio and companion Denna R. Dyer of Portland, Corey D. Poland of Mexico, Nathan C. Poland of Biddeford, Joel B. Poland of Vassalboro, Cleo P. R. Poland of Palermo, Janelle J. Burley of Freeport, Douglas Poland of Rockland, Charles Maines of Round Pond, Blain Carrol of Thomaston, Thomas Jackson of Rockland, Dot Jackson of South Thomaston, Raymond Ott of Warren, and Clyde Burley of South Portland.
Gathering of remembrance 12-8 p.m., Sat., Oct. 2 at Susanna’s home, 370 Main St., Apt. 2, Warren.
