Theodora B. Turner, 83, of West Chester, Penn., and South Bristol, died on Dec. 11 at Barclay Friends in West Chester.
She was the wife of John J. Turner Jr., with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.
Born July 17, 1933 in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Joseph M. Bruce and the late A. Margaret Bruce of South Bristol.
Prior to retirement, Theodora worked as a school librarian in the Upper Darby and Great Valley School Districts. She enjoyed square dancing, taught country western line dancing, was an avid quilter and, since she was a child, spent summers on the coast of Maine with family and friends, eventually purchasing a cottage on Clifford’s Cove in South Bristol in 1979.
She was preceded in death by grandson, William J. Turner.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Elizabeth Yates Turner of Damariscotta, and David Bruce Turner (Christine) of West Chester; siblings, Marjorie Yates and Catherine Bruce; granddaughter, Katherine Turner; and great-grandson, Brenton A. Turner.
A memorial service will be held next summer in South Bristol.
Interment will be private.
