Thomas Charles Callahan, 57, of Edgecomb, passed away Jan. 2 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born on Oct. 29, 1957 in New Haven, Conn. to John “Bud” Callahan Sr. and Margaret (Sabol) Callahan.
Tom owned and operated Reliance Auto Repair in Wiscasset since the age of 23 and continued to do so from home until he passed. Tom’s “customers” and “employees” over the years had become lifelong friends, and we cannot express the gratitude we have for all of you having such a large impact in his life and continuing to help the family during these hard times.
He is predeceased by his parents.
Tom is survived by all of his siblings, John, Matt, Bill, Mary-Kate, and Elizabeth Callahan; his nieces; good friend and mother of his children, Sherry Callahan; eldest daughter, Amanda Ouellette (wife of Jason Ouellette) of Waterville, and their three children, Nicholas, Mitchell, and Evan.; and daughter, Brooke and son Spencer, who stayed by his side during his illness.
Per Tom’s request, there will be no service. He would like to wait for his ashes to be spread on a warm sunny day by his homestead’s apple trees. At that time, there will be a celebration of life and attendees are encouraged to bring flowers to plant in his honor. Date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, photos or stories you have of Tom can be sent to 106 River Rd., Edgecomb, ME 04556.
Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
