Wanda Harrison Adams, 70, of Damariscotta, formerly of Massachusetts, passed away in Damariscotta on Dec. 2 after a brief illness.
Wanda was born in Boston on June 18, 1946, graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School and Endicott College, married Peter J. Adams, and raised her children in Worcester, Spencer, and Acton, Mass. As they settled around the country, Wanda visited her children and grandchildren often, and moved to Damariscotta in 2002 to be close to the ocean. She loved to sing, make art, and indulge in the finer things, like good seafood and liberal politics.
Wanda was a stalwart defender of kindness. She was polite to a fault, and spoiled her pets immensely. She always looked out for the less fortunate, even if she was having a tough time, and wanted a world where we all look out for each other.
Wanda was predeceased by her parents, John and Ada Whyte Harrison; and sister, Ada.
Beloved mother of Jason J. W. Adams of Texas, Jeb L. Adams of California, and Caitlin A. MacDonald of Massachusetts; adored “NooNoo” to Phoebe, Finn, Sivan, Lucy, Shai, Riley, Meital, Lilly, Edden, and Violet; and sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to so many.
Her ashes will be spread in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Gulf of Mexico by her children. A small service will be held in the spring in Massachusetts. She asked that any memorial donations go to child or animal welfare causes.
