Wanda (Wendy) H. Bailey, 82, of Dresden, died unexpectedly on Jan. 19 at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta surrounded by her loving family. She was born in South River, N.J. on May 31, 1930 where she lived for many years before moving to Maine.
Wanda worked at Decorated Metal in Milltown, N.J.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Julia Romatowski; and sister, Florence.
Wendy is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Earl D. Bailey Jr. of Dresden; children, Rick and wife Bridget Gillar of Milltown, N.J., James and wife Renee Bailey of East Brunswick, N.J., Karl and wife Amanda Bailey of Rockville, Conn., Earl D. Bailey III and wife Jeanel of Brownsmills, N.J., and Julie and husband Mike Lipman of South River, N.J.; brothers, Frank and wife Joan Romatowski of South River, N.J., Henry and wife Nancy Romatowski of Greensboro, N.C., and Stanley and wife Dorothy Romatowski of Monroe, N.J.; sisters, Jennie Furslew, Lorraine Pickus, and Joan Haffly, all of Sayreville, N.J.; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, and nephews.
Visiting hours 2-4 p.m., Tues., Jan. 22 at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner where a celebration of her life will follow at 4 p.m. Burial will be in the spring in the Riverside Cemetery Annex in Pittston.
