Warren E. Carroll, 87, of Walpole, Mass., died June 15 at Boston Medical Center. He was the husband of C. Jean (Hendrickson) Carroll who died in 2005.
Born in North Waldoboro on Nov. 11, 1920, he was a son of the late Perl and Ada (Peaslee) Carroll. Mr. Carroll was a resident of Walpole, Mass. for most of his life. He grew up in North Waldoboro and graduated from Waldoboro High School, Class of 1939.
Mr. Carroll was a WWII Army veteran, attained the rank of Private First Class and received the Good Conduct Medal, the European African Campaign Ribbon and the WWII Victory Medal.
Before his retirement, Mr. Carroll worked for 10 years at the former Halliday Lithograph Co. in Hanover, Mass. and had also previously worked at the former Plimpton Press in Norwood, Mass. for 29 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved antique cars and big band music.
He is survived by a daughter, Gay McCarthy and husband James of Walpole, Mass.; three sons, Peter Carroll and wife Barbara of Foxboro, Mass., Dennis Carroll and wife Kathy of Norwood, Mass. and Paul Carroll and wife Sandy of Foxboro, Mass.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Dottie.
He was a brother of the late Homer and Arthur Carroll.
Graveside services 10 a.m., Tues., July 8 in Rural Cemetery, North St., Walpole, Mass. Memorial reception 11 a.m. the Bethany Congregational Church, 3 Rockhill St., Foxboro, Mass.
