William N. Stephenson, 84, of Lisbon Falls, passed away on Dec. 1 following a brief illness, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
He was born in Tulsa, Okla., on Aug. 13, 1928, a son of James W. Stephenson Sr. and Goldie (Underhill) Stephenson. He attended school in Oklahoma and graduated from Central High School in Jenks, Okla. in 1946.
In 1951 he joined the Navy and retired in 1971 as a Sr. Chief Petty Officer. After retiring from the Navy, he worked at Durgin’s TV in Bath and Waterfront Communication in Harpswell. From 1978 to 1993, he was a special skilled electrician at Bath Iron Works.
He is predeceased by his parents; wife of 30 years, Dorothy (Hodgkins) Stephenson; and daughter, Sherri A. (Stephenson) Erickson.
He is survived by sons, James L. Stephenson of Phippsburg, and Michael A. Soule of Sullivan; daughter, Sharon A. Kuhn of Gurnee, Ill.; companion, Gertrude Hall of Lisbon Falls; brother, James W. Stephenson of Tulsa, Okla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation and celebration of life 5-7 p.m., Fri., Dec. 7 at the Crosman Funeral Home in Lisbon Falls with a memorial service following at 7 p.m.
