To the Editor:
Two weeks ago I complained in this paper of the ersatz lighthouse behind Damariscotta’s Salt Bay Café that bathed my bedroom with the light of 1000 candles. I didn’t expect anything to come of this, but my concern, supported by the proprietress of the neighboring yarn shop, reached all the way to the eyrie of CMP corporate headquarters.
They called and promised to send a customer relations rep, which they did. We met last week, and few days later the beacon was extinguished. How’s this?
In our world where nothing gets done, this potentate of power who brightens our dark hours, eases our burdens with electric assists, and comforts our confusion by access to the solace (?) of Facebook and Twitter, this compassionate corporation answers the little man!
Thank you CMP! I am grovelingly grateful.
