To the Editor:
As I prepare to participate in the annual Memorial Day parade, my thoughts are with the American sailors and soldiers who gave their lives for our democracy.
Next Tuesday, we vote. It may seem trivial because many candidates are running unopposed in their party’s primary. However, there are four bond issues and one ballot initiative that will affect our lives for many years to come.
Included are bonds to establish a wind energy demonstration project to advance Maine’s independence from imported oil, create jobs with state infrastructure improvement, redevelop the Naval Air Station in Brunswick, and improve and support drinking water quality and sources.
Honor our fallen veterans by exercising your right to vote.
