A pedestrian who was delivering coffee to his wife in a car on the side of Route 1 sustained an elbow injury when he was struck by a passing vehicle’s sideview mirror early Friday, Sept. 23.
Jason Harvey, 37, of Waldoboro, had pulled over on the southbound side of Route 1 near Sidelinger Road to deliver a cup of coffee to his wife, who had pulled over in a separate vehicle, according to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore.
Dalton Simmons, 24, of Waldoboro, was driving south on Route 1 and his vehicle’s sideview mirror struck Harvey, according to Collamore. Harvey was taken by ambulance to LincolnHealth’s Miles Campus in Damariscotta with an elbow injury.
Collamore said no charges are expected.
The Central Lincoln County Ambulance Service, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the Nobleboro Fire Department, and Nobleboro First Responders responded to the scene.
Lincoln County Communications dispatched emergency personnel shortly before 6:30 a.m.
