Community Shellfish LLC has applied for a limited-purpose (experimental) aquaculture lease to grow American/Eastern oysters, European oysters, and quahogs using suspended culture techniques on 2.5 acres located north of Hog Island, east of Oar Island, Medomak River, Bremen, Maine.
Other compatible uses of the area would be permitted. The application is posted on the DMR website at www.maine.gov/dmr/aquaculture, under
“Pending Aquaculture Lease Applications.”
The Commissioner announces a public comment period for this application.
A public hearing is required only if requested in writing by five (5) or more interested persons prior to the comment deadline.
