The Commissioner has issued a 3-year lease [MEDO HIx] on 2.58 acres located north of Hog Island, west of Oar Island, Medomak River, Bremen, Maine to John Marsh of Bremen, Maine for the suspended culture of American/Eastern Oysters, European Oysters, and northern quahogs. The lease site must be marked in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard requirements, and pursuant to DMR Rule 2.80(3) the lessee is required to place signage on the outside of the pound that includes the lease identifier assigned by DMR (MEDO Hix) and indicates aquaculture gear is deployed within the enclosure. Other public uses that are not inconsistent with the purposes of the lease are permitted within the lease boundaries, pursuant to lease statutes, 12 MRS §§ 6072, 6072-A, & 6072-B.
