Great Salt Bay Community School’s annual Harvest Fair will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the school in Damariscotta from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. This event is the sole fundraiser for the GSB eighth grade’s spring trip to Boston.
The much-loved event promises to have something for everyone. The famous haunted house and the good old “GSB jail” will keep the kids happy. There will be games of skill and chance, and no one plays without winning a prize.
Delicious hot lunches will be for sale, including oyster chowder, haddock chowder, and beef stew, and a variety of yummy muffins, cookies, and cheesecake will be available, too.
Fair attendees will be able to participate in a silent auction of amazing goods and services generously donated by individuals and area businesses. Some of the items include a small hooked lobster rug; Stephen King’s “The Dark Man,” signed by illustrator Glenn Chadbourne – with the winning bidder receiving an original illustration of their choice in the cover of the book by the artist; a gift basket to The Animal House; an overnight stay in a coastal Maine island cottage; four hours of house cleaning; and an original logo design. The silent auction will take place in the GSB gymnasium and is open to the public.
Great Salt Bay Community School is located at 559 Main St., Damariscotta.
