Welcome back to JVS for 2017! We hope that you all had a restful and merry winter break. Don’t forget to bundle students up for the cold weather. I see many students coming in with just a sweatshirt or no jacket at all in the mornings. Brr!

JVS PTA news
The PTA’s Family Paint Night is approaching quickly. Family Paint Night will be held on Friday, Jan. 20 from 6-8 p.m. Space is limited and one must sign up ahead of time and return an RSVP by Friday, Jan. 13. There will be no exceptions thereafter. All supplies are paid for by the PTA; however, donations are welcomed, as any funds received will go toward the JVS art classroom. Thank you to Rachael Richmond for being our art instructor and providing a step-by-step painting for the evening.
Mark calendars for the annual Family Heart-to-Heart Dance on Friday, Feb. 10 from 6-7:30 p.m. This dance is for all kindergarten through eighth-grade students and their families. All students must be accompanied by an adult the whole time. No exceptions, please. In lieu of admission, attendees are asked to please bring a nonperishable food item per person. All food items will be donated to the Jefferson Area Community Food Pantry.
The next PTA meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
Jefferson Sports Association
A baseball commissioner and a softball commissioner are needed. Anyone interested in one of these positions should contact Nicole Hall at 975-1745.
