Celebrate Olde Bristol Days by running in the 13th Annual Alvin Sproul Samoset 10K road race on Sun., Aug. 15, beginning at 8 a.m.
Runners and walkers are encourage to attend this scenic run that starts near the Bristol Consolidated School in Pemaquid and runs along Rt. 32 with views of Muscongus Bay and the Rachel Carson Preserve.
Named in honor of the long time race director Alvin Sproul, all the proceeds of this special feature of Olde Bristol Days will benefit the Bristol Fire and Rescue Dept.
The 10K starts promptly at 8 a.m. (walkers start at 7:30 a.m.) to avoid the heat of the August summer with the fun run (for ages 14 and under) beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Awards to top finishers in a wide range of age categories and ribbons will be given in both races. Check in and race registration is at the Bristol Consolidated School on Rt. 130 in Pemaquid beginning at 7 a.m.
Refreshments by the Bristol Fire and Rescue Dept. will be on hand. Two official water stations are planned as well.
