Boothbay Region’s Faith Blethen placed fourth in the State Class C cross country championships at Twin Brook Recreation in Cumberland on Saturday. Seahawk teammate Hannah Morley had a top 30 finish, taking 27th place.
Boothbay girls qualified as a team, but only had four runners compete, as Lincoln Hamblett was on crutches with a knew injury. Loren Genrich placed 55th and Kate Friant 68th.
Boothbay boys placed fifth. Kyle Ames led the Seahawks, taking 17th. Blake Erhard was the only Boothbay runner to improve on his Regional time. Erhard placed 32nd, followed by 43. Liam Conlin, 56. Bayly Gaughan-Carrasco, 69. Shane Johnson, 78. Morgen Wilson and 88. Will LeBrecue.
Wiscasset’s Brandon Goud cut 46 seconds off his Regional time, to place 29th in 18:45.
Lincoln Academy’s Emma Allen placed 35th in State Class B girls. Eagle teammate Noah Jordan placed 40th. LA freshman Sam Russ started the race, but did not finish.
Medomak Valley’s Daniel Bubar placed 63rd.
