Boothbay boys placed five scoring runners in the top 14 to win their MVC home cross country meet on Sept. 8. Wiscasset did not have enough runners to form a scoring team in either the boys’ or girls’ races.
Boothbay’s Chase Brown ran away with the competition in 17:46, beating nearest competitor and Boothbay teammate Nate Schwehm by over a minute. Tom Brown was 5th in 20:30, Stephen Barter 13th in 22:00 and Cameron White 14th in 22:00 to complete the Seahawks scoring five.
Ryan Urquhart was the top Wiscasset daler, placing 23rd in 22:35; Kyle Shute was 30th in 24:10, Joe Chapman 35th in 25:46, and Tom Buetler 39th in 26:59.
Winthrop girls won with 33 points with five runners in the top 15. Anna Doyle of Winthrop won the girls’ race in 23:32. Heidi Pinkham led Wiscasset girls with a 7th place finish in 26:55, Morgan Dodge was 11th in 27:57, Crysta Brown 20th in 29:33, and Alyssa Urquhart 35th in 40:00.
Boothbay had two girl runners, Sophia Thayer was second in 24:31 and Kate Norton was 33rd in 38:41.
