The third annual Bristol Lions Golf Tournament Aug. 13 was a huge success even though no one won the hole-in-one Jeep Patriot from Newcastle Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep. The golf tournament, sponsor donations and silent auction proceeds will greatly help local charities and the scholarship fund.
A delicious lunch of donated lobsters with corn on the cob, potato salad, coleslaw and rolls prepared by the Reunion Station’s Fairway Restaurant was enjoyed by all. Prizes and awards followed, along with the results of the silent auction.
Winners include Jim Spinney, closest to the lobster trap; Mark Morin, closest to the pin; Ken Seiders, longest drive and Jim Spinney and Sy Kagan, closest to the Reunion Station train.
First Gross winners: Pete Farrell, Tom Farrell, Joe Persson and Paul Mathews. First Net: Ken Seiders, Eddie McCarthy, Mike Brinkler and Rob Davidson. Second Gross: Leo Cardillo, Ben Ogburn, Peter Christin and Ted Hellmuth. Second Net: John Hanna Jr., Ted Hanna, Barrett Silver and Barbara Silver.
The Bristol Lions would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of both the Wawenock Country Club and the Fairway Restaurant for their assistance in this successful fundraising event. Also, a special thanks to the generous sponsors and local business donations that made all of this possible.
