Bristol 10 – South Bristol 1
Bristol took the lead on a lucky bounce that saw Kaleab Buchwalder’s boot bounce over the goalkeeper’s head. Noah Dawson netted the second goal on a nice through pass from Greg Anderson with 3:49 to play in regulation.
Lincolnville scrambled to get several second-half shots off, but were unable to breach Bristol’s net, staunchly defended by Tyler Stevens with 10 saves.
“Everyone played well. Tyler in goal was phenomenal. He really stepped up. This was a big time game and he made some big time saves,” coach Chris Perry said. There are nine eighth graders on the team, “and this is the first time any of them has won a championship,” Perry added.
The last time Bristol won the Busline co-ed championship was in 2007.
