Wiscasset collected four first place finishes and Boothbay one at the Mt.Valley Conference track and field championships at Cony High School in Augusta Friday.
Wiscasset boys won the 4×100 relay in 46.36 with Brian Campbell, Joe Chapman, Ross Hanley and John McLeod running a leg. Campbell sprinted his way to two MVC titles in the 200 in 23.76 and 400 in 53.35. Morgan Dodge won the 400m run in 1:03 and was 5th in the 200 in 29.52. Boothbay’s Nick Deniger won the shotput (46’4.5″) and was 2nd in the discus (121’1″).
Boothbay boys took 5th in the 4×800 in 9:12 with Tom Brown, Alex Owen, Nick James and Nate Schwehm. Chase Brown was runner-up in the 1600 in 4:34 and 3200 in 10:40. Kade Smith was 4th in the racewalk in 8:41 and Wyatt Anthony 7th in 9:21. Nate Schwehm was 4th in the 3200 in 10:40 and 5th in the 1600 in 4:51. Tom Brown took 5th in the 800 in 2:14. Rob Hallinan placed 5th in the javelin (134’3″). Lincoln Simmons was 7th in the discus (99’2.5″).
Lisbon boys won the MVC title with 112.5 points, followed by Winthrop 80, Monmouth 75, Livermore Falls 64, Boothbay 56, Hall-Dale 55.5, Madison 46, Mt.Valley 43.5, Wiscasset 37, Telstar 26, St. Doms 22, Dirigo 9, Carrabec 8, Georges Valley 7 and RoadRunners 4.5.
Sophia Thayer was 2nd in the 3200 in 13:02 and 3rd in the 1600 in 5:53. Nell Armstrong was 7th in the 400 in 1:06.
Lisbon won the MVC championships with 130.7 points, followed by Monmouth 66, Winthrop 62.7, Madison 59.7, Livermore 55.5, Dirigo 45, St. Dom’s 44, Hall-Dale 40, Carrabec 35, RoadRunners 28, Wiscasset 17, Boothbay 15, Mt.Valley 10.7, Jay 8 and Telstar 6.
