The Coastal Christian School Rams defeated Temple Academy 5-1 Tuesday night to advance to their league championship game, for the third straight year. They will play for their Christian league championship against Vineyard Christian from Lewiston on Thurs., Oct. 27 at Memorial Stadium in Portland at 2 p.m. CCS’s record is 10-0-2, and Vineyard’s record is 11-0-1.
Josh Tracey broke a scoreless tie 20 minutes into the contest on a through pass from Jonah Cronkhite. Cronkhite connected with Harry Stred less than a minute later to put the Rams up 2-0. Temple pulled within one on a goal from Jasper White with 8:40 to go in the half. Cronkhite scored unassisted when he dribbled through traffic and put the ball to the corner to put CCS up 3-1 at the half.
CCS took advantage of the wind at their backs in the 2nd half. Josh Tracey broke free 10 minutes into the 2nd half, and Cronkhite scored his second goal of the night with 17:17 to go to give the Rams a 5-1 victory in the semifinals.
The Rams held a 35-21 advantage in shots. Matt Brown made 19 saves for the Rams, and Isaac Manley 24 for Temple.
