Lincoln Academy’s baseball team is 3-0 in pre-season action, beating Cony, Old Town and Skowhegan by a combined score of 25-5. The Eagles defeated Cony 7-5 on April 15, then beat Skowhegan 14-0 and Old Town 4-0 in a double header on Saturday.
Dalton Leeman pitched two innings in the win over Cony. Andy Bartlett pitched four shut out innings against Skowhegan.
“We were a little rough the first inning, but we played great defense after that. The bats came alive. Pretty much everybody was hitting. It was one of those things, once one guy hit, it was contagious and everyone started hitting. They hit better on Saturday than any other team I’ve coached before. I am very pleased with our offense and pitching so far,” coach Greg Rice said.
Brandon Reilly pitched five innings (64 pitches) and AJ Oliver two in the Eagles’ 4-0 win over Old Town. “Combined they were pretty much un-hittable, only giving up one or two hits. They [Old Town] should be Eastern Maine contenders. They are a very good team,” Rice said.
