Lincoln Academy baseball picked up two big wins over Winslow and Belfast to improve their record to 5-3. At the mid-way point in the season they are ranked third in West Class B heal points. The Eagles have four games next week, including Morse, Mt. View, Medomak, and Erskine.
Lincoln 8 – Belfast 3
The Eagles beat Belfast 8-3 Monday afternoon in Waldoboro to avenge a 10-0 loss to Belfast in their first game of the season. Sawyer Pinkham went six innings for the win (3R,6K,4B,3H) and Devin Scherer closed out the game for the save (2H,0K,0B).
After three scoreless innings, Lincoln rattled Belfast starter Lucas Smith (4I,2H,5K,3B,3R) for three runs. Wally Morris walked, Tim Farrar doubled and Travis Creamer walked to load up the bases. Brady Leeman drove in Morris with a single. Spencer Alden scored Farrar on a fielder’s choice, and Creamer scored on a wild pitch.
Alex Canning hit a solo homerun to right field in the top of the fifth.

The Eagles added three runs in the fifth. A.J. Oliver and Morris singled to set up an RBI single for Farrar. Morris scored on a passed ball, and Farrar on a Leeman single.
Belfast pulled with three with two runs in the sixth, padded by four walks. Lincoln added two runs in the sixth. John Henry singled, and Scherer walked to set up an RBI sacrifice fly to Oliver. Scherer scored on a passed ball.
Hitting for Lincoln were Farrar with a double and single, Morris two singles, and Oliver and Henry a single each. Hitting for Belfast were Canning with a homerun, and Emery Dinsmore, Drew Stanley, Lucien Smith, and Pete Specture a single each.
Lincoln 8 – Winslow 0
Lincoln Academy baseball picked up a big win in Winslow on Friday, 8-0. A.J. Oliver went the distance in the win (3H,4K,2B). Jack Trust took the loss (5H,8R,4K,2B) and Trevor Lovely closed out the game.
Oliver singled home Sawyer Pinkham in the first and scored on a Wally Morris single. The Eagles added two runs in the second. Pinkham scored on a Devin Scherer single. Oliver drove home Scherer with a single.
Lincoln added a run in the fifth when Morris doubled and scored on a Tim Farrar single. The Eagles extended their lead to 8-0 in the sixth with three runs. John Henry and Pinkham scored on a Scherer single. Scherer scored for the eighth run.
Hitting for Lincoln were Morris with a double and single, Scherer and Oliver two singles each, and Pinkham and Farrar a single each. Hitting for Winslow were Lovely and Dylan Hapworth a single each.
