Lincoln Academy’s field hockey team celebrated long and hard on Oct. 12, after winning their first game of the season. The 1-0 win was the team’s first since 2006. The Lady Eagles clipped the Cony Rams’ sub-varsity 1-0 in Augusta in their season finale.
“We dominated the game,” coach Amanda Armstrong said. The win avenged Lincoln’s earlier season loss to Cony.
Norma Leeman scored the winning goal on a breakaway.
Andrea Call earned the shutout with five saves in net for the Eagles.
