Lincoln Academy boys’ basketball team sank the Shipbuilders in Bath Tuesday night 41-35. The Eagles jumped out to a 12-2 1st quarter lead then held on for a wild ride. Lincoln continued their struggles at the foul line, making just 6 of 17 attempts.
Lincoln led 12-2, 20-12 and 33-22 at the quarter breaks.
Scoring for the Eagles were Dylan Leavitt 13 (17R), Bo McLain 8, Jalen Lincoln 7 (3A,3S), Nic Phinney 6, Merritt Wotton 2 (2S), AJ Oliver 2, and Caleb Farrin 2. Tom Masters had five assists. Scoring for Morse were Ed Cole 13, DeVaughn Myers 10, Matt Munster 6, Chris Paulus 4, and Kevin McKellar 2.
The win snapped a two game losing streak and improves the Eagles’ record to 7-8. Lincoln is currently in 12th place, the final position for the playoffs. With three games remaining against Medomak, Camden and Oceanside, the Eagles will have to pick up a big win to secure a playoff berth.
Lincoln shot miserably from the line, making just 4 of 12 foul shots, Gardiner made 10 of 12 attempts.
