Lincoln Academy boys soccer team tied undefeated Winslow Tuesday night, 1-1. Devin Scherer scored for the Eagles, becoming the second player of the year to score against the Black Raiders.
After a scoreless first half, Winslow’s Taylor Roy found net 12 minutes into the second half, with Dakota Herman picking up the assist.
Devin Scherer tied the game eight minutes later on an assist from Kaleab Buchwalder.
“That set the stage for 20 minutes of even handed battling back and forth. Regulation ended in a 1-1 tie. That score held through two overtime periods, with both teams having scoring opportunities,” coach Ken Stevenson commented.
Winslow held a 15 to 9 edge in shots. Raider keeper Alex Berard had five saves, and Eagle keeper Wally Morris eight.
Lincoln’s record is 2-4-6, and they are currently seeded fifth in West Class B Heal Points.
