“Judy’s Crew” won the Second Annual Nick DePatsy Candlepin Bowling Tournament, taking home $1000 in prize money. Team members include Rick James, Jeannie Gilbert, Judy Bowden, D. J. Trask, and Marc Carrier.
The second place “Eric’s Team” took home $500 in prize money. Team members were Karl Pitcher, Sam Smith, Arnie Benner, Eric Denault, and Jason Kaler. “Eric’s Team” won the First Annual Nick DePatsy Memorial and only missed winning this year by one pin.
Third place and winners of $300 in prize money went to Dave’s Crew, comprised of Jeannie Lewis, Dave Emerson, Norm Whitehill, Jamie Bouton, and Dave Emerson II.
An additional $200 was given out to the team with the highest single game of 616, which was team “Easy Rolling” comprised of Jim Carlton, Barry Libby, Orin Parker, Cliff Meservey, and Ray Athearn.
Tournament director Tim Fields helped organize the tournament and recruit teams as well as volunteer John Killinger who drove all the way up from Scarborough to chase pins and ensure everyone was playing by the rules.
Chef George Benson provided some of the best Maine Fried Seafood as well as other splendid sustenance to all the players. A 50/50 raffle drawing and the money made will be donated to the Waldoboro Food Pantry in honor of Nick DePatsy.
