Friday after Thanksgiving is the traditional day for LA alumni to come back to the Eagles’ nest and challenge the LA varsity basketball teams. There will also be an oldies men’s game for players who graduated more than five years ago.
The games start at 5 p.m. in the Nelson Bailey Gymnasium with the Lady Alumni taking on the 2010-11 girls’ varsity team. The older men’s alumni (prior to the class of 2006) will play a game with odd versus even year classes. The final game features the men’s alumni from 2006-2009 versus this year’s boys’ varsity.
Special guests at this year’s games are the members of the 1982 State Class B champion boys’ soccer team. They will be honored before the boys’ alumni game.
This traditional Thanksgiving weekend event is sponsored by the Lincoln Academy Alumni Council. The Council will sell hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, snacks and drinks during the games. Proceeds support the Alumni Council’s programs and activities, which include Homecoming, the alumni banquet, and the Lincoln Log.
Admission is $4 for adults, and $1 for students. Children 6 and under, and members of the L.A. Class of 2010, are free.
