Lincoln Academy wrestlers Dylan York (125) and Sam Stone (215) placed at the West Class B wrestling championships in Rumford on Saturday to qualify for the State Class B championships to be held at the Augusta Civic Center Feb. 12. York placed second at 125 pounds and Stone fourth in the 215-weight division. Mark Zaccadelli (103), Dan Mayer (140) and Dalton Peaslee (285) placed fifth and will attend states as alternates.
Mt.Valley won the West B team championships with 234 points, followed by Fryeburg 150.5 Morse 129.5, Oak Hill 105, Wells 100, York 94, Gardiner 84.5, Winslow 42, Lincoln 37, and Gray no score.
Mark Zaccadelli (LA 103) lost to Nicole Burgess (Mt.V) by 13-5 decision, drew a bye in the consolation round, and was pinned by Kayla Vigue (Win) in 55 seconds.
Dylan York (LA 125) drew a bye, pinned Jackson Howard (Wel) in 5:53, then lost to Cody Magoon (MV) in the finals by 16-2 tech fall to take second place.
Sarah Alley (LA 130) was pinned by Brandon McDougal (Mor) in 1:07 and by Chad Daly (Wel) in 52 seconds.
Cole Domeyer (LA 135) was pinned by Wyatt Brackett (Mor) in 35 seconds and by Teddy Durfee (Wel) in 1:28.
Dan Mayer (LA 140) was pinned by CJ Bartlett (Fry) in 1:36, beat Zach Thomas (Mor) by 15-7 decision, and was pinned by Willy Bennett (Yo) in 1:38.
Martin Shott (LA 145) lost to Josh Thornton (MV) by 18-5 decision, and was pinned by Michael Alvarez (Mor) in 2:30.
Dylan Flint (LA 152) was pinned by Jordan Brown (Gar) in 3:00 and by Rafael Mata (Yor) in 3:44.
Blake Hay (LA 160) was pinned by Zach Cross (MV) in 27 seconds and lost a 17-13 decision to Ken Williams (Gar). Hay picked up his first career pin last week in the KVAC tournament.
Nate Geoffrion (LA 171) was pinned by Brad Stephens (YO) in 1:01, won by pin over Jared Richard (OH) in 1:26 and was pinned by Vilatiano Tantoco (win) in 2:10.
Sam Stone (LA 215) pinned Sean Cote (Win) in 2:38, lost to Nick Wells (OH) by 8-4 decision, pinned Tyler Salley (Gar) in 2:13 to advance to the consolation finals. Stone was pinned by Alex Robinson (Wel) in 3:11 to take fourth place.
