Lady Eagle Lacrosse Action

Mt.Valley 16 – Lincoln 10Lincoln Academy girls’ lacrosse stayed within striking distance of Mt.Valley most of the game, before the Falcons pulled away in the second half. The Eagles trailed by two, 5-7 at the half. Lindsay Smerdon made 17 saves in net for Lincoln.

Scoring for the Eagles were Katrina Belle with 6 goals and 1 assist, Celia Howland 2 goals, 1 assist, and Katie Riley 2 goals. Ayla Allen led Mt.Valley with 11 goals.

“The team as a whole played really well. They played solid. They played well, played hard, and played with integrity. I was really proud of them tonight,” coach Amanda Armstrong said after the game on May 11.Freeport 18 – Lincoln 5Freeport handed Lincoln girls’ lacrosse an 18-5 loss on Saturday in Newcastle. Scoring a goal each for the Eagles were Belle, Lexi Fossett, Riley, Phoebe Arnold and Howland. Howland and Nutt had an assist each. Lindsay Smerdon made 14 saves in net for Lincoln.

Scoring leaders for Freeport were Becca Lane and Alex Mitch with 3 each.

Freeport beat Lincoln 10-3 in JV action. Grace Bibber, Sally Gardiner-Smith and Smerdon had a goal each. Riley made 6 saves in her maiden day in net.
