Lincoln Academy softball improved to 6-0 with a 7-1 win over Oceanside on Monday. Abby Farrin struck out 13 in the win (1B,3H) and allowed just one unearned run in the top of the seventh. Tyler and Davis pitched in the loss for the Mariners.
Morgan Achorn drew a bases loaded walk and Miranda Achorn hit a bases loaded double to left field in the third, scoring three runs to boost the Eagles lead to 4-0. Gethner hit an RBI single.

Lincoln had a solid defensive game. Olivia York and Morgan Achorn made superb plays. “With one out and two runners on in the fifth Paige Tyler hit a line shot toward second that was stabbed by Olivia York to prevent a run, possibly two,” Lincoln coach Tom Nelson said.
In the second inning with a runner on second, Brit Dugan hit a line shot to deep left center that was tracked down by Morgan Achorn to prevent a run.
Hitting for the Eagles were Miranda Achorn with two hits (4RBI), Farrin one (2RBI), and Morgan Achorn and Jen Genthner one hit each. Brit Dugan had two hits (1 RBI) and Grover one for Oceanside.
Lincoln 11 – Leavitt 6
Lincoln Academy softball picked up their fourth straight win on April 30, 11-6, at Leavitt. Abby Farrin collected the win (8K,8H). “Anytime people were on base, she would shut them down. The defense played well,” coach Tom Nelson said.
Center fielder Morgan Achorn threw a baserunner out at the plate in the bottom of the seventh to stop the Hornet’s rally.
Hitting for the Eagles were Morgan Achorn with two doubles and a single, Alyx York a three run triple in the first. Farrin two singles, Olivia York a double, and Jen Genthner, Kayla Brackett, and Taylor Poland a single each.
Hitting for Leavitt were Perkins with three, and Daigle, Deloris, Knowlton, Gilbert, and Santimango one each.
Lincoln 14 – Waterville 1
Winning pitcher Abby Farrin (6K,1H,1B, four scoreless innings) and Morgan Achorn (2H,3K,1B,1R) combined for a 14-1, three hit win over Waterville May 2.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to an 11-0 lead after three innings. Waterville spoiled the shutout with a run in the fifth. Lincoln got the run back in the top of the sixth, then added two runs in the seventh to win 14-1.
Abby Clawes took the loss, pitching the first five innings. Huard pitched the final two frames.
Hitting for Lincoln were Miranda Achorn with three singles (3RBI), Farrin a double and single (3RBI), Kayla Brackett two singles (2RBI), Alyx York two singles, Margaret Skiff and Alyssa Smith an RBI double each, Chloe Hallowell, Cassidey Bodley and Morgan Achorn an RBI single each, and Danielle Pinkham, Olivia York, Natalie Whitney, and Logan Low, a single each.
For Waterville, Hannah Allen had two hits, and Kayla Hamilton one.
